Preparing for Life After High School
As graduation approaches, conversations naturally begin to shift toward the future.
College acceptance letters arrive. Career plans begin to take shape. New opportunities appear on the horizon. Along with all that excitement comes something else: responsibility.
That is why one of the most important traditions of the Stunning Senior Program is our annual Leadership Seminar.
On May 4, 2025, the Class of 2026 gathered for An Evening with Amie Kelly, a night dedicated to leadership, personal growth, and preparing for the next chapter of life.
What is the Stunning Senior Program?
For those who are new here, the Stunning Senior Program is a leadership and mentorship experience for high school seniors that blends service, personal growth, and of course, unforgettable senior portraits. Every year, we select a small team of driven, creative, kind-hearted seniors to represent StunningGradPhotos.com. It’s more than just a photoshoot — it’s a year-long journey of community, confidence, and connection.

Learning Around the Dinner Table
The evening began at Mario and Windy’s home with dinner from Chick-fil-A. Between trays of nuggets, fruit, cookies, and plenty of conversation, the team had a chance to slow down and enjoy time together.
It was one of those evenings where everyone knew graduation was approaching. In just a few short weeks, these seniors would walk across the stage and begin a new season of life.
Before that happened, we wanted them to spend time with someone who has dedicated her life to helping others grow.

Meet Amie Kelly
Amie Kelly is a nationally recognized business leader, speaker, coach, and former educator. After beginning her career in education, she built a highly successful Mary Kay business, earning 14 career cars, including her current Pink Cadillac, while consistently ranking among the top sales leaders in the nation.
As the founder of Impact Success Coaching, Amie has spent years helping individuals and organizations develop leadership skills, confidence, and personal effectiveness. Her passion for lifelong learning and personal growth made her a perfect fit for our Leadership Seminar.

Learn moreWhy Emotional Intelligence Matters
Rather than focusing on resumes, careers, or traditional leadership topics, Amie chose to teach the team about something that may be even more important: Emotional Intelligence.
Drawing from the work of psychologist Daniel Goleman, Amie explained that success is not determined by intelligence alone. While academic achievement is important, the ability to understand and manage emotions often has an even greater impact on relationships, leadership, and long-term success.
The team explored several key areas of emotional intelligence, including:
Self-awareness
Self-regulation
Motivation
Empathy
Social skills
One lesson that resonated throughout the evening was the importance of self-regulation.
As these seniors prepare for college and adulthood, they will face situations where parents, teachers, and coaches are not immediately available to help them navigate challenges. Learning how to pause, think clearly, manage emotions, and respond thoughtfully can make all the difference.
Amie encouraged the team to recognize their emotions without allowing those emotions to control their decisions.
That lesson will serve them well far beyond graduation.
Leadership Starts From Within
One of the most powerful takeaways from the evening was the realization that leadership begins long before someone is given a title.
Leadership starts with how we manage ourselves.
The ability to stay calm under pressure, show empathy toward others, and make thoughtful decisions creates the foundation for strong leadership in every area of life.
These skills are especially important as our seniors transition into college, careers, and greater independence.

Learn moreEven River Was Paying Attention (Maybe?)
As the presentation continued, there was one unexpected attendee who seemed to enjoy the evening just as much as everyone else.
River, our family dog, spent much of the seminar soaking up attention and enjoying pets from the team while Amie spoke. While we can’t say for certain how much she learned about emotional intelligence, she certainly seemed to appreciate the atmosphere.
Her presence added a little extra warmth and laughter to an already memorable evening.

Looking Ahead
The evening concluded with photos on the front porch, plenty of smiles, and meaningful conversations about the future.
As the Class of 2026 prepares to graduate, we hope they carry many of Amie’s lessons with them. Knowledge and talent are valuable, but learning how to understand yourself, manage your emotions, and build healthy relationships may be some of the most important skills a person can develop.
We are incredibly grateful to Amie Kelly for investing in our team and sharing her wisdom, experience, and encouragement.
The future is bright for these seniors, and we cannot wait to see where their journeys lead next.
